Augmented CINCH (A-CINCH) is already the fourth project in the series of CINCH (Concept In Nuclear and Radio Chemistry) projects funded by the EU under Euratom FP7 and H2020.  During the projects, many modern and digital methods and tools have been developed to promote radiochemistry education and to attract new talents, this includes a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), remote controlled experiments (RoboLabs) and interactive screen experiments (IBE). In the current project, all previous work and new features will be bundled into a CINCH hub platform and made easily accessible. In the virtual world, things that are actually invisible, such as radioactive radiation, can be made visible and the younger target group of pupils in particular can be inspired for the subject in a playful way. At the same time, the project promotes the practical training and networking of young scientists through international hands-on training.

In the project, the IRS is responsible for the development of an AR app for pupils and the further development of the virtual radionuclide laboratory (VR Lab). In the VR Lab, students can perform radiochemical and radiopharmaceutical experiments as virtual hands-on trainings in preparation for a real laboratory course, and government officials can enhance their skills in practical radiation protection. In addition, the software of the existing RoboLabs at IRS will be modernized to continue to provide browser-based remote control, and IBEs will be developed for all existing RoboLabs to allow experiments to be performed simultaneously with larger groups.
